When your spray sections aren't in line, timing matters.

Standard section control works well when spray sections operate from roughly the same position on the machine. But when one section sits several metres ahead of or behind another, switching them all at the same point can result in missed coverage or unnecessary overlap, particularly around headlands.

The AgriStag Split Boom Time Delay Controller solves this by introducing a programmed delay to the ON and OFF commands of the offset spray section, allowing its operation to better correspond with where that section physically sits on the ground.

A recent application involved a split-boom sprayer with left and right front-mounted wings and a rear boom trailing approximately 6 metres behind. The rear section required different timing to the front sections, so we configured the controller to delay its ON and OFF commands accordingly.

As part of the same retrofit, the controller was paired with our Hayes Trailing Boom Spray Harness to replace and consolidate the existing boom-control wiring across the seven-section spray system.

The controller is housed in a protective Tough Case and programmed by AgriStag to suit the requirements of the application before supply.

The time delay can be configured for different machine layouts and applications, making the controller useful anywhere a physical offset between spray sections creates a timing problem.

For applications we install in the field, the delay can be fine-tuned during setup to suit the machine's operation.

Where a controller is supplied remotely, we can configure it before dispatch based on the application. If adjustment is required later, we can also provide phone support or a written adjustment procedure on request.
