About

Allows a Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus universal display to be fitted in legacy R Series tractors (2010-2014) in place of the original CommandARM 7" display. The CommandARM display can be fully removed and does not need to remain plugged in elsewhere. This harness includes the display video connector to allow for the machine’s integrated video connection.

Mounting brackets are also available to purchase to suit:

  • Bracket for a 2630 - $70 AUD

  • Bracket for a Gen4, G5 or G5Plus - $50 AUD.

Is this harness compatable with a 2630?

We can make a version of this harness to suit the fitment of a 2630 (same price), though please note the video port keying and mounting bracket differs. If seeking to replace your CommandARM screen with a 2630, ensure you advise of us of this when placing your order so we can ensure the correct version of the harness and bracket are sent to you.

Can I do this in a machine with a CommandARM that isn't a tractor?

We have a Non-Tractor CommandARM to Universal Display Adaptor that allows the replacement of a CommandARM or 2630 in Combines, Self-Propelled Forrage Harvesters, Self-Propelled Windrowers, Self-Propelled Sprayers, Sugar Cane Harvesters, and Cotton Pickers.

Can I transfer my activations?

Activations are non-transferable to Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus displays. If the customer currently has activations on their 7" CommandARM display, equivalent activations may need to be available on, or purchased for, the replacement universal display.

Will I still be able to see my engine hours?

The John Deere Gen 4, G5 and G5Plus operating software changed the performance monitor to work monitor. The performance monitor is where engine hours are viewable on the 2630 and CommandARM displays. As a result, engine hours may not be visible on the Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus universal display. Engine hours can still be reported to Operations Center if the machine has been fitted with an MTG.

What's the difference between a GS3 or a GS2 CommandARM?

There are a couple of generations of the CommandARM. What a GS3 commonly refers to is the touch screen variant, in which the menus will appear to look the same as a 2630. What is often referred to as a GS2 CommandARM however, is the non-touch screen variant that looks like an 1800 in its menu keys. Either way, our harness is suitable to enable your upgrade/ screen replacement.

Do the machine functions still appear?

Yes, they load like an ISOBUS terminal, as such they will be viewable under the ISOBUS VT in a Gen4, G5 or G5Plus universal display. These can be turned into their own run screens via the layout manager, for ease of navigation between run pages simply press the top left of the screen instead of the page turn arrows in the top right.

Will it still run an ISOBUS implement?

Through testing the ISOBUS implement still appears in the ISOBUS VT as normal.

Can I use an extend monitor?

Yes you can. Fitment of the universal display to the armrest does not prohibit the use of the extended monitor port.

Why are people replacing their 7" CommandARM screens?

Everyone's needs behind this are different. Whether it be to enjoy a newer larger screen. Replace an aging or broken 7" screen that is often NIL stock globally or if found here in Australia can cost around $8000 AUD to replace. It goes without saying that the newer screens can enable growers with a range of other features. We don't sell wholegoods, we refer growers to their local dealer for that, our aim is to enable growers to get more out of an otherwise great machine.

Will a G5Plus hit the steering wheel or the side window because its so big?

Our initial customer fitted his machine (8360R) in 2024, so we gave him a call to ask! He reports that he has never hit the glass or the steering wheel with his G5Plus.

Compatability

Designed for use with 2010-2014 R Series tractors fitted with a GS2/GS3 CommandARM display.

Compatible with:

Gen 4, G5, or G5Plus Universal Displays

We can also make a version of this harness to suit the fitment of a 2630 (same price), though please note the video port keying and mounting bracket differs. If seeking to replace your CommandARM screen with a 2630, ensure you advise of us of this when placing your order so we can ensure the correct version of the harness and bracket are sent to you.

NOT compatible with:

G5e Display
Machines fitted with 4200, 4600 or Gen 4 Integrated Displays
Post-2014 machines already fitted with integrated display systems

Fitment & Routing

Removal of the 7" CommandARM display will require a small bracket to allow for the 2630, Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus display to be mounted.

The harness is designed to plug-and-play with the existing armrest display connector and allows the CommandARM display to be removed rather than left plugged in elsewhere.

A mounting bracket is available to purchase separately for an additional $50 AUD, or customers may choose to fabricate their own mounting solution.

Build Time

Typical build time: 1 day, depending on stock availability, sourcing of parts, and current demand. Contact us (or your dealer) to confirm lead times at time of order. Due to the popularity of this product we often batch builds together across a scheduled week.
