Great tractor. Ageing screen. There’s another option.

The AgriStag Tractor CommandARM to Universal Display Adaptor allows the original 7" CommandARM display, touchscreen or non-touchscreen, in compatible 2010–2014 John Deere R Series tractors to be replaced with a 2630, Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus display.

The original CommandARM display can be completely removed and does not need to remain plugged in elsewhere in the cab. Our harness connects to the tractor's existing armrest display connection and includes the display video connector to retain the machine's integrated video connection.

Importantly, replacing the CommandARM doesn't mean giving up the GreenStar functionality you use in the tractor. Functions including mapping and AutoTrac/autosteer continue to operate through the replacement display. Tractor machine functions remain accessible through the ISOBUS VT and, through our testing, compatible ISOBUS implements continue to appear through the VT as normal.

Whether you're replacing an ageing or damaged CommandARM, want the functionality and screen size of a newer Universal Display, or simply have a compatible 2630 available that you'd rather put to use, this gives you another option for getting more out of an otherwise great machine.

IMPORTANT: ENGINE HOURS

Engine-hour visibility can vary after replacing the original CommandARM display.

We've had customers whose engine hours remain visible on their replacement display, while others have found they are no longer displayed after the change.

The 2630, Gen 4, G5 and G5Plus use different operating software to the original CommandARM. In particular, the Performance Monitor, where engine hours are viewable on the CommandARM, changed to Work Monitor on newer operating systems. Because of these differences, we cannot guarantee that engine hours will remain visible on the replacement display in every setup. 

If the tractor is fitted with an MTG, engine hours can still be reported through John Deere Operations Center, even where they are no longer visible on the replacement display.

If retaining access to engine hours is important to you, this is worth considering as part of your setup before replacing the original CommandARM. Though overwhelmingly the feedback from customers has been that this is a small price to pay for the extra functionalities gained from their newer generation screens.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's the difference between a GS2 and GS3 CommandARM?

There are a couple of generations of the 7" CommandARM. What is commonly referred to as a GS3 CommandARM is the touchscreen variant, with menus that look similar to a 2630. The GS2 CommandARM generally refers to the non-touchscreen variant, with menu keys more closely resembling an 1800.

Our adaptor is suitable for replacing either version.

Can I use a 2630 instead of a newer Universal Display?

Yes. We manufacture a version of the harness specifically for fitting a 2630 at the same harness price. The video port keying and mounting bracket differ from the Gen 4/G5 version, so please let us know when ordering if you're replacing your CommandARM with a 2630. We'll make sure the correct version of the harness and bracket are supplied. This can be a particularly practical option if you already have a compatible 2630 available that you'd like to put to use.

Do mapping and AutoTrac/autosteer still work?

Yes. GreenStar functions such as mapping and AutoTrac/autosteer continue to operate through the replacement display, subject to the replacement display having the appropriate activations and the tractor's existing compatible GreenStar equipment. 

Remember that activations held on the original CommandARM itself cannot be transferred to the replacement Universal Display.

Do my machine functions still appear?

Yes. Tractor machine functions load through the ISOBUS VT on a Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus Universal Display. These can be configured as their own run pages using Layout Manager. For easier navigation between run pages, press the top-left of the display rather than using the page-turn arrows previously located in the top-right.

Will it still run an ISOBUS implement?

Through our testing, compatible ISOBUS implements continue to appear through the ISOBUS VT as normal.

Can I transfer my activations?

Activations held on the original CommandARM are not transferable to Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus Universal Displays.

If you currently have activations on your 7" CommandARM, equivalent activations may need to already be available on, or purchased for, the replacement Universal Display.

Any activations already held on the replacement Universal Display are unaffected by fitting the adaptor.

Can I use an Extended Monitor?

Yes. Fitting the Universal Display to the armrest does not prevent use of the Extended Monitor port.

Will a G5Plus hit the steering wheel or side window because it's so big?

We wondered the same thing! Our first customer fitted a G5Plus to an 8360R in 2024, so we gave him a call and asked. He reports that he has never hit the glass or steering wheel with his G5Plus.

Individual mounting positions can vary, so appropriate clearance should still be checked during installation.

Can I do this in a machine with a CommandARM that isn't a tractor?

Yes, but you'll need our Non-Tractor CommandARM to Universal Display Adaptor
