Still running the original 7" CommandARM in your John Deere R Series tractor? Whether it's ageing, damaged or simply no longer meeting your needs, replacing the screen doesn't have to mean replacing the tractor.


Our Tractor CommandARM to Universal Display Adaptor lets you completely remove the original CommandARM and replace it with a compatible John Deere 2630, Gen 4 (4640), G5 or G5Plus display.


The adaptor connects directly to the tractor's existing armrest display connection, allowing the original CommandARM to be completely removed without needing to keep it plugged in or tucked away elsewhere in the cab.


For Gen 4 (4640), G5 and G5Plus displays, the video feed is routed through the primary display connector, leaving the secondary video port available for cameras 2, 3 and 4.


What about your existing tractor functions?


Supported tractor functions remain accessible through the replacement display's ISOBUS Virtual Terminal (VT), while GreenStar functionality such as mapping and AutoTrac/autosteer can continue operating, subject to compatible equipment and the appropriate display activations.

  • GS2 CommandARM – Non-touchscreen version.

  • GS3 CommandARM – Touchscreen version.

Fitting a 2630? 


We manufacture a specific configuration of this adaptor for 2630 displays. This version uses a separate video connection and may differ in appearance from the product pictured. Please let us know if you're installing a 2630 when ordering.

You'll need our separate Non-Tractor CommandARM to Universal Display Adaptor, designed for supported non-tractor applications.

Important Considerations


Engine hours


Replacing the original CommandARM can affect where, or whether, your tractor's engine hours are displayed. Some customers have retained engine-hour visibility on their replacement display, while others have found that the hours are no longer shown. This is because the 2630, Gen 4 (4640), G5 and G5Plus use different operating software from the original CommandARM. In particular, the original Performance Monitor, where engine hours are viewed, changed to Work Monitor on newer operating systems.


We cannot guarantee that engine hours will remain visible on your replacement display. However, if your tractor is fitted with an MTG, engine hours can still be reported through John Deere Operations Center, even if they're no longer visible on the replacement display.


If engine-hour visibility is important to you, please consider this before ordering, and check out our AgriStag Tractor CommandARM Dual Display Adaptor as it allows you to retain the original 7" screen alongside a compatible 2630, Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus display, keeping familiar tractor information accessible in the cab.


Display activations


Activations held on the original 7" CommandARM cannot be transferred to a Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus Universal Display.

Depending on the functions you use, equivalent activations may need to already be available on, or purchased for, your replacement display. Any activations already held on the replacement Universal Display are unaffected by fitting our adaptor.


CommandARM buttons and controls


Some original CommandARM buttons will no longer operate as they did with the 7" screen, particularly when upgrading to a Gen 4 or G5 display. Supported tractor functions remain available, but certain navigation and selection tasks move to the replacement display's touchscreen. We've explained the specific button changes in the FAQs below.

Installation 


The adaptor plugs directly into your tractor's existing armrest display connection, allowing the original 7" CommandARM to be completely removed. An installation guide is emailed when your harness ships, and you can also view installation videos in the media gallery above.


MOUNTING OPTIONS – ONE SCREEN OR TWO?


Keeping it simple with one display?


Our standard single-display mounting bracket is available for $50 AUD (ex GST) and is commonly purchased alongside this adaptor. It provides a mounting solution for your replacement Universal Display.


Planning to run an Extended Monitor or second display?


Our AgriStag Precision Ag Dual Display Bracket can also be used to mount an Extended Monitor or another compatible display alongside your replacement Universal Display, depending on your intended setup. 


The Dual Display Bracket is sold separately, although package pricing may be available when purchasing it alongside eligible AgriStag adaptors or harnesses.


Prefer to keep your original 7" CommandARM?


We've developed another option for customers who'd rather retain their original screen.


Our Tractor CommandARM Dual Display Adaptor allows you to keep the original 7" CommandARM connected while running a compatible 2630, Gen 4, G5 or G5Plus display alongside it.


Pair it with our Precision Ag Dual Display Bracket for a practical side-by-side mounting arrangement.


The difference between these two harnesses is simple:


  • This adaptor: Replaces the original 7" CommandARM.

  • Dual Display Adaptor: Retains the original 7" CommandARM alongside the newer display.

Frequently Asked Questions


What's the difference between a GS2 and GS3 CommandARM?


The GS2 generally refers to the non-touchscreen 7" CommandARM, with menu keys resembling those on an 1800 display. The GS3 is the touchscreen version, with menus similar to a 2630. Our adaptor supports replacement of either version.


Will mapping and AutoTrac/autosteer still work?


Yes, provided your replacement display has the appropriate activations and your tractor retains the necessary compatible GreenStar equipment. Activations held on the original CommandARM cannot be transferred to the replacement Universal Display.


Will my tractor functions and ISOBUS implements still appear?


Supported tractor machine functions load through the ISOBUS VT on compatible Gen 4 (4640), G5 and G5Plus displays. These functions can be configured as run pages using Layout Manager. For easier navigation between pages, press the top-left of the display rather than using the page-turn arrows previously located in the top-right. Through our testing, compatible ISOBUS implements also continue to appear through the VT as normal.


Can I still use an Extended Monitor?


Yes. Fitting the Universal Display to the armrest doesn't prevent use of the Extended Monitor port. Our Precision Ag Dual Display Bracket may also provide a suitable mounting solution for both screens, depending on your configuration.


Which CommandARM buttons will stop working?


When upgrading to a Gen 4 or G5 display, the following original navigation buttons no longer function:


  • A–J

  • Tick and cross

  • Home

  • Upward arrow with dashes


These functions are replaced by touchscreen controls on the newer displays. Other CommandARM controls continue to operate where supported. You can see examples in our installation videos.


Can I still change IVT transmission settings?


Yes. In tractors equipped with an IVT transmission, press the transmission button on your CommandARM and select the desired mode using the replacement display's touchscreen. For example, you can still switch between IVT Mode 3 for fieldwork and Mode 1 (FieldCruise) when unloading a grain cart. The function remains available; only the selection method changes.


Will a G5Plus interfere with my steering wheel or side window?


Since our first customer installed a G5Plus in an 8360R back in 2023, we've had no clearance issues reported with the steering wheel or side window. However, mounting positions and cab configurations can vary, so clearance should always be checked during installation.
